Depart from Johannesburg in the morning for Dusk to Dawn… a spacious country house in the most southern tip of Mpumalanga – the place of the rising sun. Johann and Gudrun Engelbrecht have turned their family home into a friendly and welcoming half-way stop for tourists and visitors en route on the N2 from the Kruger National Park or Gauteng to the Kwa-Zulu Natal North Coast or vice versa. The Engelbrechts are fifth generation descendants of German Missionaries who settled in this area in 1870 and German is still spoken at home.
Situated on the Family Farm, Warmbad this exquisite venue overlooks the dam and rolling fields, creating a naturally romantic ambience. The Family Tree offers natural beauty and charm in aged Wild Fig Trees, breath-taking sunsets and indigenous sweet thorn trees.
A lush country destination… in the place of the rising sun.
Day 2, 3 and 4
Accommodation Type: Lodged
Includes: Accommodation, meals, teas, coffee, two daily game drives and transfers to & from the hide during the day.
Tembe Elephant Park is the largest elephant park in South Africa, and is not only home to the Big 5, but also hippo, serval, eland, zebra, giraffe, hyena, jackal, wildebeest, nyala, kudu, waterbuck, reed buck, red duiker, warthog, other small mammals and birds which thrive in abundance in this 300 square km of nature reserve close to the Mozambique border.
These magnificent elephants, more than 140 in number – from massive full-grown adults to juveniles – are Tembe`s main attraction for all who come to see them. The larger adults are physically the biggest in South Africa and signs of their presence are everywhere. Sand forests, woodland, grassland, and swampland, comprise the ideal habitat for these highly-visible elephants and so can be observed at close-quarters from game-drive vehicles or from the discreetly-located hides which overlook their watering holes.
The lodge comprises luxury en-suite and semi-luxury safari tents that blend unobtrusively with their natural surrounds and are tucked away in secluded areas around the lodge. A swimming pool and open-air braai area lends itself to a rustic ambience and guests can enjoy campfire meals and the unforgettable experience of Africa under the stars.
Situated in Maputaland, the north-eastern region of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Tembe is not only home to the province`s biggest elephant herd, but its only indigenous elephants as well.

Welcome to the World’s Highpoint! A world heritage site on the border between South Africa and Lesotho 2874 metres above sea level. From Calgary to Cape Town our guests recognise what makes one of the best kept secrets in Africa so unique. “Situated at the top of Sani Pass. From the lodge the views are absolutely amazing. The quiet and peaceful surrounds make the stay very worthwhile. It is a wonderful very remote site. Remember that all supplies need to come up the pass. When you consider this and you see the lodge. It is quite amazing what you get. I rate this as a solid 4 based on my expectations: the remoteness and the constant turnaround in guests to experience a unique part of Lesotho and South Africa.”
A great location sitting on the top of Sani Pass, just two hundred meters from the Lesotho border post.
